Wheel Features
Aerodynamic +
By placing the rim’s widest point 15mm below the bead, we create a smooth, rounded profile that stays composed in crosswinds and reduces drag. Air flows seamlessly around the wheel instead of breaking abruptly, avoiding the twitchy forces common with narrow, deep rims. The result is a teardrop-like shape, nature’s most efficient, delivering lower drag and predictable handling when the wind picks up. NOBL recommends a 40mm wide tire for the most aerodynamic setup.
Fusion Hook +
NOBL’s Fusion Hook delivers better tire retention than hookless rims and greater impact strength than traditional hooked designs—the best of both. Using a shallow, reinforced bead, it avoids the fragility of a deep clincher hook while holding the tire more securely than a hookless rim. The result is broader tire and pressure compatibility, reduced risk of burping, and peace of mind on every ride. Always follow your tire’s recommended pressure, even if the rim is rated higher.
Ultra-Wide +
With a 29mm internal width, the FAR rims are built for high-volume gravel tires. A wide rim and tire width pairing decreases rolling resistance, and increases grip on mixed terrain—why they’re now the standard for front-of-pack racing. Run at lower pressures, they smooth rough roads, boost control, and reduce fatigue over long days. If your frame has the clearance, going wider is one of the simplest ways to ride farther, faster.
Raw Finish +
All NOBL rims leave our high-end steel molds with a natural, raw finish without the need for post-production sanding and finishing. Without this abrasion, the carbon fibres remain fully intact and encapsulated in resin, preserving their structural integrity. Producing a paintless carbon rim is more demanding, but the result is a rim that’s not only cleaner in appearance, but inherently stronger.
Flatline Valves +
The FAR series features a raised, flattened valve platform designed specifically for secure valve stem installation. This precise fit keeps the valve firmly in place, reducing movement and minimizing the risk of air leaks, keeping your tire pressure consistent.
Optimized Tubeless Fit +
For the best overall tubeless experience, the bead seat width and height, along with the drop channel diameter, are precisely engineered for the FAR’s 29mm internal width. Most riders will be able to install a tubeless-ready tire without the use of levers and inflate the tire fully without the use of a powerful air compressor.
Recommended tire pressures +
The FAR40’s 29mm internal width is designed for higher-volume tires, which provide better control, traction, and lower rolling resistance without creating a “light bulb” profile. Larger contact patches mean wider gravel tires require less pressure to perform optimally; for example, a 50mm tire at 25 psi will feel similar to a 40mm tire at 30 psi. Thanks to the NOBL Fusion Hook design, maximum tire pressure is 60 psi, but on wide rims, higher pressures offer no real performance advantage. Recommmended Tire Sizes +
For a 29mm internal-width aero-gravel rim, the ideal tire range is typically 40–50mm, striking the best balance of comfort, grip, and aerodynamics. Riders can go as narrow as 38mm for more pavement-focused riding, or wider—up to roughly 57mm, depending on frame clearance and tire profile—for aggressive terrain. Many riders find 45mm to be the sweet spot for overall performance. 38-44mm: Great for riders who mix in more road riding or prefer faster, smoother gravel; offers comfort and grip over rougher roads. 45-49mm: A fantastic all-rounder, balancing speed and capability for most gravel adventures. 50-57mm: For tackling very rough, technical, or loose gravel, but ensure your frame has clearance.
The Fastest Setup +
For the most aerodynamic setup, a 40mm tire works best, following the 105% rule. FAR rims are shaped to create a smooth, teardrop-like profile, the most efficient form in nature, with the rim’s widest point of 38mm positioned 15mm below the bead. This creates a clean, continuous transition from tire to rim, delivering real aerodynamic gains without increasing bead width. In practice, a fast-rolling tire that suits the terrain will usually outperform one chosen solely for width. On rough gravel, a 50mm tire may be faster despite being less aerodynamic than a narrower option.
